IME SA provides a wide range of Electro-pneumatic Controllers designed for mounting to pneumatic linear or part-turn actuators.

The I/P module and subsequent pneumatic amplifier is used to control, the pneumatic actuator. The I/P module converts the permanent electrical set point signal from the CPU into a pneumatic signal used to adjust the 3/3-way valve. The air flow for pressuring or depressurizing the actuator is continuously adjusted. As a result, excellent control is achieved. When reaching the set point the 3/3-way valve is closed in the center position to minimize the air consumption.

The modular and compact design allows the Electro-pneumatic controller to automatically determine the control parameters and the adaptation to the final control element, leading to a considerable time saving and optimum control.

Among the main characteristics, we emphasize the following features:

• High filling capacity of the actuator which enables direct connection to large dimension valves;
• Resistance to high vibration by physically separating the electronic module from the sensor;
• Communication facility (HART protocol 4–20mA and PROFIBUS);
• Possibility of commissioning through the front panel;
• Visual indication of the mechanical position of the front panel;
• Can be applied in hostile environments classified as (ATEX, FM/CSA, GOST, IECEx and SIL2).
