In addition to the wide range of liquid analyzers, IME SA provides Chlorine Dioxide Generators which allow the generation of chlorine dioxide solutions in various ranges, from generators that produce between 2g / day and up to 10g / hr, to solutions that allow to produce between 900 g / h and 45 kg / hr.

 

Chlorine Dioxide is mainly used for the treatment and disinfection of drinking water, preventing the formation of trilometer. It is also used to prevent the formation of bromate when it is present in treated water for the eradication of the pathogens causing Giardia and Cryptosporidium diseases, and can also be used to remove phenolic compounds that provoke the taste of drinking water and odor problems .

 

PRINCIPLE OF MEASURE:

 

Chlorine Dioxide is generated by the reaction of two reactants, Hydrochloric Acid (8.5%) and Sodium Chlorite (7.5%).

 

Two peristaltic pumps control the automatic addition of the two reactants to a reaction tower, where chlorine dioxide is generated. The solution is then diluted to a 1 g / l solution, flowing from the reaction tower into a storage chamber. The storage tank section is vented to the atmosphere through a carbon filter, which removes residual chlorine dioxide vapors. The microprocessor automatically controls the chlorine dioxide generation process from filler, dilution and storage reagents.
