The BUS I/O Remote System for explosive atmospheres is a response to the increasing industrial requirements of operation efficiency and flexibility in BUS communication systems. In fact, this system allows a direct installation is areas when there are risks offering exactly the same flexibility than the equipment offered for areas without any risk with minimal space.

This system is a scalable and modular solution having as a basis a central control unit (RCU) which incorporates the power supply unit, the Ethernet switch and the information processing. Up to 32 I/O (sensors and actuators) multichannel modules can be connected to the (Rail Control Unit) RCU.

The key-features of this system are:

• Energetic efficiency, the remote I/O modules can be operated and supplied with power by means of the Rail Control Unit (RCU);
• Uninterruptable operation, which guarantees energetic and communication redundancy and avoiding any shutdown time;
• Module replacement, without disconnecting the system from voltage supply (Hot-Swap function);
• Absence of isolated repeaters between ATEX and non ATEX zones, being an ideal solution for Profibus DP, MODBUS DP, Profinet and Ethernet IP communications.
